Ja, er zitten veel motten in de tuin van de Natuurpunt-voorzitter. Dan toch op 20 juli 2019: 681 om precies te zijn. 150 verschillende soorten, plus (uiteraard) steeds enkele soorten die ik niet kon determineren: te moeilijk, ze waren te snel weg, te afgevlogen… Veel soorten in een slecht mottenjaar (want dat was 2019): wellicht is de aard van de tuin de reden: grote hooilanden/weilanden, heel veel hagen en houtkanten, veel wilde hoeken met ruigte, en een vijver. En dat binnen een ruilverkaveld landschap in Oost-Brabant.

Er zaten ook heel wat zeldzaamheden in de vallen, met als uitschieter de Splinterboogbladroller, de tweede warneming van de laatste 50 jaar in Vlaanderen. Verder ook nog Tere zomervlinder, Vlasbekdwergspanner, Karmozijnrood weeskind en (niet zeker) Appelkwastmot. Algemeenste soorten: Grijze stipspanner (31), Parelmoermot (26), Weidehalmuiltje/Halmrupsvlinder (45) en Gewone stofuil (32).
