De tuin van Rollin en Anneleen springt er uit; in één oogopslag zie je dat hier mensen wonen met een hart voor natuur. Op een oppervlakte van enkele aren vind je hier een overweldigende diversiteit aan planten en dieren; bloemenborders met vlinderplanten, een houtkant, stukjes ruigte, een hooilandje, een moerasbiotoop. En toch was dit enkele jaren geleden een schapenweide.
Dat laat zich merken aan de aantallen nachtvlinders; 100 soorten. Waaronder 4 exemplaren van de spectaculaire grote beer. Zou dat te verklaren zijn door de hoge ecologische kwaliteiten van de tuin, of ligt het grotendeels aan de verhoogde mobiliteit van nachtvlinders bij prima mottenweer? Misschien plaats ik in de tuin van Rollin en Anneleen deze zomer bij een volgende actie TWEE vallen; eentje in de tuin, en tegelijkertijd eentje 500 meter verder weg, in het landbouwgebied. Benieuwd welke verschillen dat oplevert…
